Import Fees & VAT
UK VAT for International Customers
By default all prices on our website are inclusive of UK VAT at 20%. The amount of UK VAT included in the price can be seen on the product page.
However, if you are ordering for delivery to a country outside the UK, including the EU or Channel Islands, you will not have to pay any UK VAT on your order. Channel Islands customers please choose Jersey or Guernsey as the delivery country at checkout to ensure VAT is not charged incorrectly.
Once you enter a shipping address on the Cart/Checkout page, UK VAT will be automatically be removed from your cart total if appropriate, and from the prices displayed elsewhere on our store if you continue browsing.
Please note however that many countries charge VAT and/or Import Duty and Tariffs when you import goods from another country - please see the sections below for more information.
European Customers
With the UK having left the EU there will now be VAT and potentially other import fees payable when ordering from EU or EEA countries. You will not have to pay the UK VAT shown on our store in line with the information above, but you will have to pay VAT and any additional charges to your own country on anything imported from the UK.
These charges will usually consist of VAT at your countries standard rate, plus an admin charge for customs clearance which varies by country. There may be additional import duties to pay, these also vary by country but often range from 3-5%. Please check with your countries customs department for full details of the fees payable.
USA Customers
With Donald Trump's new tariff regime coming into effect over several months from May 2025 onwards, and full details still to be confirmed, there is currently a great deal of uncertainty about the import duty you may have to pay for importing our products moving forwards.
At a minimum, there is a 10% duty being imposed on imports to the USA from the UK as of now. Note the tariffs apply on the date the goods formally enter the US, so orders placed prior to this that have not cleared customs yet may be hit by the new tariffs.
There is, however, a 25% duty rate for automobiles and parts, which appears to replace the country-by-country tariff rates, although we are still awaiting confirmation of this.
As of 29th August 2025 the tariff exemption for shipments under $800 is being scrapped, so tariffs will apply to all shipments from this date forwards, instead of just shipments over $800.
In addition, any shipping service which uses the USPS to clear goods through customs (which includes Royal Mail and Parcelforce from the UK) will incur a flat rate tariff of $80 PER ITEM whilst the USPS puts systems in place to handle these new tariffs properly.
This means for now we are unable to continue using cost-effective Royal Mail services for smaller low value shipments, as you would have to pay $80 per item in tariffs. To avoid this all shipments to the USA now have to go via DHL, which makes shipping significantly more expensive, but avoids the $80 flat rate tariff, and will instead be charged on the percentage-based tariffs as normal.
Please note that despite what Trump says, import fees, tariffs and duties are a tax on the end consumer of the country they are imposed in - these tariffs are charged by the US government to US consumers (you), and are fully your responsibility to pay. Any shipment returned due to refusal to pay duties will be refunded minus the shipping costs paid, and any return shipping charges from the courier will also be deducted from your refund as per our Terms and COnditions.
